VBReFormer

VBReFormer is a VB decompiler for applications written in Visual Basic 5 and 6: executables, DLLs, OCX controls and screensavers, compiled to P-Code or to native code. It reads the binary, rebuilds forms, resources, modules and classes, and exports a project that can be reopened in the Visual Basic 6 IDE. It is also a compiled-UI editor: the interface of a compiled program can be modified directly, without the source, with no size limitation. Generation 2, released in September 2026, is built on a new decompilation engine written from scratch. It reconstructs the code of both compilation modes, names the members of third-party controls and standard interfaces, declares module variables and fixed-size arrays, and writes the project files the way the IDE expects. Every version is dated and documented on the public changelog, with before/after examples of the reconstructed code. The decompilation engine runs on the publisher's servers: the desktop application installs in a minute and improves without reinstalling. An online studio decompiles a binary in the browser, with nothing to install. Submitted files are deleted after processing. The free edition is the same installer as the licensed one. It extracts the full UI design (forms, resources, project structure) and shows a preview of the decompiled code, with no time limit. A licence unlocks the complete code and the project export, for one, two or three years of updates and support; what you download during that period is yours to keep. VBReFormer has been developed since 1999 and is designed, published and hosted in France, under European Union law, with EU-based support. It is also the Visual Basic analysis component of Malva.RE, a static malware analysis platform for security teams. Interface in English, French and Spanish. Windows 10 and Windows 11.
